Empire magazine has reported the full list of Autobots and Decepicons that will appear in the new live action movie.

Can they make it any better than Transformers: the Movie from 1986?

I don't think so as it's still a fantastic movie even to this day.

Again though do we actually need a live action Transformers movie? Surely the days of the Transformers have been over for years, and anything they make will just be a rehash of what has already been done.

Well you never know what they have in mind for Hollywood movies these days. Although I would say that this may have the potential to be a very good version, providing they remain faithful. If they don’t then it could turn out to be like the recent X-Men movies. It would be good, but a wasted opportunity.

The problem also is that it will be compared directly to the original Transformers movie from 1986. That film had all of the build up from the TV series, the classic battle between Megatron and Optimus Prime, the death of many different fan favourite Transformers such Ironhide and Starscream.

This may be where the new film will have its problems. The story will not be faithful enough for the original fans, and today’s kids just doesn’t care about Transformers anymore as it’s popularity isn’t the same as it was back in the mid-eighties.

The list of Transformers that are confirmed to be in the movie:

Autobot List

Optimus Prime
Bumblebee
Jazz
Ratchet
Ironhide

Decepticon List

Megatron
Starscream
Brawl
Bonecrasher
Barricade
Scorponok
Frenzy
Blackout

No one really knows what is planned for this film, so no one really knows what to expect. I just can't see any Hollywood studio taking advantage of the entire backstory and characters to make a truly great Transfomers movie.

But I do wish the film well as I am a big fan of Transformers, and I hope it is going to be an enjoyable film.
